Harrogate War Memorial listed at Grade II*
Harrogate War Memorial has been listed at Grade II*. This means that it's particularly important and of more than special interest.
It's rare because it includes women in the Roll of Honour and emphasises their names. Only 5.8% of listed buildings and structures are given this category of listing.
Otley War Memorial Cross and Memorial Garden
The newly listed Grade II war memorial is a rare example of a war memorial sculpted by a female sculptor. Barbara Collingwood created the war memorial from a design of her fathers, William Gershom Collingwood.
