Public house. Early to mid C19 with c.1900 alterations. Stucco and glazed terracotta (roof not visible). Narrow rectangular plan at right-angles to street. Three low storeys, 3 windows, symmetrical; ground floor of brown glazed terracotta, with pilasters to large central window and flanking doorways, deep fascia with raised white lettering "CASTLE HOTEL" and elaborate consoles to moulded cornice; 3 sashed windows without glazing bars at 1st floor and 2 similar windows at 2nd floor linked by sill-band, all these with moulded architraves; modillioned eaves cornice. Interior (reported 20.06.88): retains unusual multicoloured glazed faience curved bar front.
