The 503 drawings of Camber Castle date from 1934 to 2000 and include six oversized drawings.
The earliest drawings, from the 1930s, are proposals for the conversion of the castle to a club house for a golf club. There are thirty-eight drawings from 1963 to 1965 when the Ministry of Public Building and Works carried out a major survey. Eight of these drawings were amended by English Heritage in 1986.
There were excavations carried out in 1979, 1982 and 1983 which produced some amendments to earlier plans and sections, four of which are by the Department of the Environment from 1983.
There are two sheets of photographs of the excavated courtyard made by English Heritage in 1984, and copies of these for handling.
Between 1989 and 1992 English Heritage undertook a thorough survey of the castle using rectified photography, producing forty-seven drawings. English Heritage produced eleven photogrammetric survey drawings of the east, west and entrance bastions and parts of the curtain wall in May and June 1990.
In Nov 1990, TSG Survey Services and the Institute of Advanced Architectural Studies respectively produced photogrammetric survey drawings of the interior of the keep. In 1991 and 1992, TSG Survey Services made external photogrammetric survey drawings of the keep for English Heritage.
There are publication drawings by Richard Warmington for the unpublished 1993 English Heritage post excavation research design on the 1963 - 1983 excavations.
From 1991 and 1992 are thirty-seven copies of photographs of the castle amended by M.J. Rodaway & Partner as part of a contract for English Heritage.
There are five drawings of new stairs and platforms made by English Heritage from 1992. In 1993 and 1994 English Heritage commissioned Caroline Atkins to produce drawings of the castle (mainly elevations of the interior). A major photogrammetric survey was carried out in 1995 by LTG Services for English Heritage. Further drawings of the castle were produced by Caroline Atkins for English Heritage in 1996.
There are several drawings of stairs from the castle of uncertain date and authorship, probably dating from the 1990s.
